For 2019, ABAW continues its support of and participation in the Walk for Rice fundraising event on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Seward Park. Therefore, JOIN OUR TEAM today!
Even if you are unable to make the event, you can donate to ACRS on our Team Page! The more ABAW members, family and friends, the merrier. Together we can raise funds for the Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) Food Bank. As a free, kid and pet-friendly summer event, this is a perfect opportunity to meet, connect, and reconnect with your friends, colleagues, and their families while raising funds for an organization that does such important work for our community.
ACRS helps the most vulnerable families in our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. The ACRS Food Bank provides vital support to over 5,200 families (who make over 120,000 visits) every year. Walk for Rice makes it possible for ACRS to purchase and distribute staples of the AAPI diet, including rice, tofu, noodles and bok choi. Without its resources, many families would go hungry.
Please take a moment to sign-up now on our team page, available here. Our team page also includes the time schedule for the day. After our walk, ABAW and FLOW (Filipino Lawyers of Washington) will gather at Eric De los Santos' home nearby to mix and mingle with a potluck, barbecue, and beverages. Directions to his home will be provided at the walk. Please bring a side dish or beverage to share for the potluck.
Please contact Liz Lee at elizabeth.lee@gmail.com or James Chung at president@abaw.org should you have any questions.
